Background and Clinical Approach
Hey there! My name is Dr. Cory Cobb, and I am a licensed psychologist who works with people struggling with depression or other difficult life situations. As someone who has both personal and professional experience with depression, I understand firsthand how it feels to be stuck in life. People with depression and other disorders like anxiety often have hopeless views of themselves, of those around them, and of their futures. I understand these struggles and strive to meet clients where they are.
My objective is to provide a space where clients and I can work together toward reaching important life goals. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is to see clients improve their life situations and move toward a fulfilling, value-based life. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to teach important problem-solving skills that can be used to reduce and manage distressing symptoms while preventing future relapse. CBT is a frontline treatment for depression and many other psychological challenges.
In addition to depression and life transitions, I also commonly work with men’s issues. As a psychologist, I have noticed that many men are often reluctant to engage in therapy and feel considerable stigma around seeking mental health help. I am here to help with that – judgment free. Finally, I have considerable experience working with diverse Latino population and highly enjoy working with this population as well.

I believe that my greatest strength as a psychologist is my ability to connect with people on a personal level. I consider authenticity and genuineness as core values that I hold, and I strive to exercise them with clients to build a trusting relationship with them. In our first session together, we will get to know one another and discuss the mental health or life challenges you are facing. During this time, we will discuss my approach to therapy, what to expect, and answer any questions that you might have. We will also work together to identify important goals you want to achieve. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two children and wife who is from Mexico. I also play the blues on guitar, and love bass fishing. I also enjoy spending time in nature when the Texas sun is not too hot!
