Hello! My name is Charlotte Jackson and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1993. I graduated with a master’s in psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University and have worked in a variety of settings. While I have experience working in psychiatric hospitals, most of my time has been spent in University Counseling Centers.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages, using Cognitive Behavior Therapies, Acceptance & Commitment Therapies, and a variety of Mindfulness Practices. Additionally, I have specialized training in suicide intervention and prevention. I am trained as a generalist, having worked with many individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment, relationship, trauma, sexual orientation, and gender identity concerns.
I believe that the counseling relationship between counselor and client is the most important part of the change process and that the client brings a great deal to the table. My focus is to strengthen coping skills already present and provide additional skills as well. I am looking forward to making new connections!
